I just gave RB some pasta.  He said, “This is hot.  It’s going to make my face burn up like Freddy Krueger.

This reminder me of a few weeks ago when Shorty was talking about Freddy Krueger and kept calling him Fred Goomer.  I laughed so hard I couldn’t tell him the rel name.  Rb had to intervene.  They Shorty told me that he couldn’t say Freddie Cougar very well.  Through my laughter, I asked if he was related to John Cougar.  They didn’t get it.  This is what happens when I have to be somewhere at 7:15.  I guess I should be happy that I at least amuse myself.

I didn’t really felt like blogging last week. Maybe I’ll tell you about it later. Maybe not. But I will tell you something Shorty just said to me…

Shorty: Will you please open this for me?
Me: Sure.
Shorty: I said the “p” word.
Me: That’s why I’m opening it for you.
Shorty: What? Penis? Well, that’s the “p” word.
At least he makes me laugh!

Here is conversation from school today:

Kid: R just said the b word and the f word.
Me: Come here & whisper them to me.
Kid: (whispering) He said the b word and the f word.
Me: No honey, I want you to whisper the words.
Kid: Oh! He said butt and fart.
That is why I always ask them to whisper the word!

Saturday night RB had a sleepover birthday party.  Friend 1,2 &3 spent the night, #’s 4 & 5 stayed until 10pm.  If you are ever thinking about having a sleepover party, you may want to think again!  The kids had a great time.  FT & I did not sleep much.  2am I had to get mean to get them to sleep.  Shorty & friend 3 were driving the others crazy, so I took them into the living room.  3 fell asleep right away.  After I got Shorty settled down (but not asleep), I checked on the others.   Here’s the conversation we had, keep in mind these are the gifted kids!

Me: BOYS, it’s 2am.  You need to go to sleep.  I’m tired & you’re keeping me awake.  Do you really want me to be grumpy in the morning? (I should mention here that 1 & 2 know me from school, as a teacher).

Boys: We’re tired.  We’re trying to sleep, but we can’t. 

Me: If you stop talking & moving around for 2 minutes you’ll fall asleep.

Boys: How do when know when it’s been 2 minutes?

Me: I’ll come back!!!

So I went to get Shorty to sleep.  Two minutes later, I checked on the boys & they were asleep.  All of the boys ere up by 8:00

FT is in Texas.  I am not.  Shorty actually stayed out of my bed last night.  The one night there was room for him.

I took the day off tomorrow.  RB has his 3rd grade program thingy tomorrow & since it’s supposed to last TWO HOURS! I decided to take the day to be the mom.  I forgot next week is Spring Break.  My break started today.  When I first took the day off, I was really happy about sleeping in & having FT take the kids to school.  Did I mention that he’s in Texas?  I still have to get up tomorrow.  Oh well, I’ll just use the time to get the X-ray on my foot that I was supposed to get 4 months ago!

Today, at 6:07pm, RB turns 9.  It’s hard to believe, sometimes I feel like it was only yesterday that I was pregnant with him.  Other times, it seems longer than 9 years.

These came out of Shorty’s mouth, today.

1.  As told by his teacher, another student (one of his friends) smacked Shorty in the back of the head while walking in line (nice friend, huh?).  Anyway, the teacher (& a good friend of mine) asked Shorty if the kid hit him.  Shorty says, “yes, but maybe it knocked some sense into me”.

2.  “When I want to say a-s-s, I’ll just spell it.  Then I’m not saying it.” 

3.  “I’m shooting a bird at the devil, see?”

That is my weight.  At least it was this morning, in my pj’s, before I ate or drink anything, and after I peed (of course).  I don’t really want to share my weight with everyone, but I need to be held accountable.  I don’t have time to go to WW meetings and don’t want to pay to weigh in ever week, so I will be weighing in with you.  I’ve already lost a few plans, so I am hopeful.  My goal is at least 10 lbs by Memorial Day.  I think that’s a reasonable goal.  We’ll see.

I just came across these pictures that my sister in law gave us.  Does anyone else find them extremely creepy.  I am quite frightened of this Santa.

I invited my kindergarten class & parents to meet at a restaurant tonight.  I just got back about 30 minutes ago & I am tired.  (note to self:  do not schedule this type of event on a day when you have to work from 7:15 to 5:45).

 Surprisingly it was fun, although crazy.  Almost half of the class showed up (8/19, if another half student showed up we would have had half the class).  It was nice to give the parents a chance to get to know each other & see how the kids act with their parents (they are much better behaved without them)!  Some parents don’t seem to mind if their kids run around in restaurants…

The next outing will be bring your own dinner to the park!
